Elizabeth Smith joined the Topeka Public School District as Assistant Principal of McEachron Elementary in August, 2018. Before this position she served several years in the field of education as an Administrator and Music Educator. She has been an educator since 1998 graduating from Baker University with a Bachelor in Music Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University.
She is active in her community. She serves as a leader with a local 4-H Club. She has also helped with the Kansas Teacher of the Year Selection Process. As a proud mother of two daughters, she and her husband enjoy attending their sporting events. It is her pleasure to serve students, parents, staff and community of McEachron and as the school says....to know, to do, to be the best!

Darlene Bluvan has been working with Topeka Public Schools since 2009 and began working in education in 2008. Before being McEachron’s Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bluvan was an Instructional Coach, taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, and was both a Special Education Para and a General Education Para. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Family from Manhattan Christian College and a Teacher's Certification from Ottawa University. Mrs. Bluvan has an ESOL endorsement from the University of Kansas and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University.
Mrs. Bluvan is passionate about relationships and community. Having served on district-level curriculum and assessment teams, providing ongoing professional development, and supporting outstanding teachers and students in classrooms, she believes everyone can grow and learn. She is also an active member of the community, being very involved in her church and being a part of her family's small business. Family time is always special, as Mrs. Bluvan and her husband enjoy spending time with their three children, two girls and a boy, supporting them in their interests. She is honored to serve at McEachron, where commitment to supporting families, students, staff, and the community drives us all to continually strive for excellence and . . . to know, to do, and to be the best.
